Job Description:

Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Fredericksburg, Virginia

MUST

1+ year of Operating Room experience

Scrubbing in on procedures

Preparing OR, materials and instruments

Providing patient education

Anticipating needs of surgical team and assist anesthesia staff

Transporting patients to the OR

Reviewing medical records/ plan care with providers

Providing comfort and reassurance to patient

Licensed in Virginia as a Registered Nurse in the state of VA

ACLS certification

CPR Cert

BSN preferred

DUTIES:

Duties of the Operating Room Registered Nurse include but are not limited to the following:

Scrub in on procedures

Supervise and direct patient care in the ambulatory operating room

Perform circulating nurse role and functions

Prepare operating, supplies and equipment as required

Prepare equipment, supplies and instruments before start of procedures and positions and adjusts equipment as needed

Organize nursing activities efficiently and effectively

Support the total perioperative process

Assemble equipment, supplies and instruments

Provide comfort to the patients

work with patients during admission to the operating room

Identify the patient and correct surgical intervention according to policy and procedures

Provide patient education to the patients

Explain procedure to the patient

Perform circulating duties
